Pakyong

Pakyong is a town located in East Sikkim District. It is about 20 km south of Gangtok.

The main attraction here is the National Research Centre for Orchids (NRCO), established in 1996. Pakyong is also the proposed site for the air terminal in Sikkim.

By road, Pakyong is accessible from Gangtok which is well connected by buses from Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Siliguri. The nearest railway station to Pakyong is New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway Station in Jalpaiguri and airport is Civil Enclave Bagdogra at Bagdogra, both in West Bengal.
