Pajaka Kshetra

Situated at the foot of Kunjarugiri Hill, Pajaka Kshetra is about 13 km south-east of the town of Udupi. It is believed to be the birth place of the 13th century philosopher-saint Madhvacharya. The famous Durga temple is also close to this holy spot. Madhva and his parents were the devotees of this temple. There are four holy tanks created by Parashurama in the vicinity of Kunjarugiri hill.
