Padi Kavali Maha Dwara, the outer gopuram
, is an interesting aspect of Sri Ventkateswara Temple
. Standing on a quadrangular base, it displays the architectural style of the later Chola
period. It contains 13th century inscriptions. Besides, numerous stucco figures of Vaishnava gods such as Hanuman
and Lakshmi Narasimha are seen on the gopuram.
