Paddar




Paddar, a block of the Kishtwar subdivision, is a beautiful place located in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 14 km away from Kishtwar. Paddar Valley, one of the most scenic valleys in Kishtwar, lies in this area. The valley is famous for its sapphire mines.

Many Buddhist Gompas are situated in Paddar, due to which most of the inhabitants of this place are Buddhists. Chandi Mata Temple is another place of worship in this village. The place, being a base for the trekkers, offers many short treks and hikes to upland villages. One trek goes to the Suru and Zanskar valleys of Ladakh. Paddar can be reached from Pushal and Doda. Managed by the Northern Railways, Jammu Tawi Railway Station serves this place.
