An exclusive burns treatment center, Padanjali Ayurvedic Hospital, started in 1995, is at Kuttipuram in Malappuram District. Traditional ayurvedic treatments are given to the burns caused by fire, chemicals, wound scars and distortion of skin. Treatments are started with a clinical evaluation of health under the supervision of experienced ayurvedic physicians. Special ayurvedic treatments such as pizhichil (oil bath), njavarakizhi (rice bundle massage) and massage therapies are offered here.
The hospital has a branch at Mankara in Coimbatore. Kuttipuram is situated about 50 km south of Kozhikode.
