Paangmo Festival




Paangmo Festival is celebrated by the Phom tribe of Nagaland. The festival, celebrated in the month of November, is a three-day affair.

During this festival, the whole village is cleaned. Repair work of the wells and homes are carried out. They are then decorated for the festive occasion. Special beer, called ‘Yu’, is prepared from rice. Parents offer meat and food to their married daughters. The daughters also present their parents with similar food items.
