Our Lady of Assumption Church is situated at
Poonkavu in
Alappuzha District of
Kerala. Established in the year 1860, this church is one of the parishes of the Diocese of Cochin.
The church witnesses a heavy influx of devotees during the Feast of Our Lady of Assumption, which falls on August 15th every year. Other festive occasions include Confraternity Feast of Infant Jesus (on 6th January), Feast of St Sebastian (on the last Sunday of February) and Feast of St Peter (on Sunday on or after February 22nd).
