Oothukkadu




Oothukkadu is a sleepy village situated on the northern banks of Vettar River, the tributary of the famous Cauvery River. It is about 13 km south of Kumbakonam.

Major point of attraction here is the ancient Sri Kalinga Nartana Perumal Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna. The village is also famous for the Bhagavata mela tradition of dance-drama. Sri Abhimugheswarar Temple, Sri Kasi Vishwanathar Temple and Adi Kumbeswara Temple are other religious sites situated nearby.

Kumbakonam Railway Station (15 km) and Tiruchirapalli Airport (108 km) are the nearest railway station and airport respectively.
