Ontimitta




Ontimitta, also spelt Vontimitta, is a small town situated in the Cuddapah District of Andhra Pradesh, about 25 km from Cuddapah. The focal point of the place is a temple dedicated to Lord Ram. The shrine is noted for its architectural splendor comprising beautifully sculpted mandapams and exquisitely carved pillars. Tavernier, a French traveler of the 17th century, described it as one of the most beautiful temples in India. Ontimitta Railway Station is on the Cuddapah-Nandalur railway line. Tirupati Airport is the nearest airport.
