Nuapada District




Nuapada District lies in the western of region of Orissa, bordering Chhattisgarh. It occupies 3,408 sq km of land and has a population of over half a million. The main dialect spoken is Awadhi. Agriculture is centered on paddy cultivation, and is mostly primitive. Soil is of red laterite type. The climate of Nuapada is characterized by brief and erratic rainfall followed by dry spells.

Rivers Udayanti and Sundar flow through the district. Budhikomna, Patalganga, Thipakhol, Patora, Sindursil and Yogimath are the important tourist places.
