Nohta Mahadeva Temple




Nohta Mahadev Temple is a 12th century shrine situated at Nohta, in Damoh District of Madhya Pradesh. Nohta is about 11 km from Jabalpur.

This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It has an elaborate plan with a sanctum, large pillared mandap and a porch. The shrine stands on a platform and the shikhara of the temple has been restored with the original material in an arbitrary manner. Thousands of devotees throng during Karti fair, which is held annually at the temple.

One can also see a few remains of Jain temples at Nohta.
