Ningol Chakouba

Ningol Chakouba is an important festival celebrated by the Meiteis of Manipur. It is held in the month of November, on the second day of the new moon.

This amazing festival symbolizes a family reunion. The designation Ningol Chakouba is derived from two words, Ningol (meaning 'daughter of the family') and chakouba (meaning 'invite to a feast'). On this festive day, parents invite their married daughters and their children to a feast and share experiences.
