Nimso Kerung Dance



A folk dance of Assam, Nimso Kerung features the close interaction between young men and women. The dance is accompanied by a song, called Karaera, which contains some elements of lust in it.

The male performers hold a shield in one hand and a stick in another. The girls have their head covered with black scarves. During the performance, a girl holds on to the coat of the neighboring boy, while he holds her belt.
