Neelkanth Mahal

Neelkanth Mahal, one of the important monuments in Mandu District of Madhya Pradesh, lies at a short distance west of Sagar Talao. The beautiful palace, constructed in 1574 for the Mughal emperor Akbar’s Hindu wife, is famous for the water channels and cascades. An ancient temple of Lord Shiva is located at this spot. The main room of this Mahal overlooks the valley and the walls are adorned with fine Arabic calligraphy.
