Neelankarai




Neelankarai is a coastal area situated to the south of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is about 6 km from the city center. The area is surrounded by fishermen’s villages. Neelankarai beach is the prime attraction here.

Kapaleeswarar Nagar is one of the largest layouts in Neelankarai. This suburb is famous as the hatchery of turtles. SIPCOT runs a Marine Shrimp Hatchery and Farm at Neelankarai.

The convenient railheads to Neelankarai are Chennai Central Railway Station and Chennai Egmore Railway Station. Regular buses ply from Chennai and other major places to Neelankarai.
