Nava Kalebara

Nava Kalebara is a festival celebrated in Puri District of Orissa. The festival is held once in every twelve to nineteen years. This festival is associated with the deity, Lord Jagannath. It is during this period that the three temple deities, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra change their external forms. The wooden images of the deities are replaced by new idols, which are carved out of Chandan-Neem trees.
