Naulakha Palace, the oldest palace in
Gondal, is situated in the
Rajkot District of
Gujarat. This 17th century palace has exquisite balconies, a fabulous pillared courtyard, delicately carved arches and a unique spiral staircase. The darbarhall is adorned with stuffed panthers, gilt wooden furniture and antique mirrors. The palace houses a museum displaying silver caskets which carried messages and gifts for Maharajah Bhagwat Sinhji. Also displayed are weighing scales on which he measured silver and gold on important occasions and princely relics.
