National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS) is an autonomous society operating at Sundial Apartment in
Panaji, on A S Road. It was setup by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, for promoting adventure tourism in India.
The institute covers the entire range of water sport disciplines such as sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, scuba diving, river rafting and kayaking. Over twenty types of courses are developed for water-sport professionals and tourists visiting Goa.
The main training venue is at Aivao, near Dona Paula Circle in Panaji. Some programs such as river rafting and scuba diving are carried out in Mayem Lake and other proper outstations.
