National Institute of Technology (NITC) is situated 22 km north-east of
Kozhikode in
Kerala. Established in 1961, it is one of the premier national institutions for technical education in India. The college was formerly known as the Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC).
The college offers bachelor of engineering degrees in architecture, civil, computer science, electrical, information technology and electronics. Master of engineering degrees (MTech), MCA and PhD courses in various fields are also offered.
Infrastructure facilities include laboratories, workshops, well-stocked library, hostels and sophisticated instruments center. A health care center with 10 beds is available in the campus.
NITC can be accessed from Kozhikode city by Mukkam road, which branches off the Kozhikode-Kalpetta road after 16 km.
