National Institute for the Orthopaedically Handicapped




National Institute for the Orthopaedically Handicapped is an apex institution in Kolkata. It was established in 1978 under the leadership of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The main objective is to develop model services, conduct and sponsor research and standardize aids and appliances to the orthopedically handicapped population. It offers graduate courses in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, prosthetic and orthotic and post graduate diploma in disability management.
