Established in 1958, National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) in
Nagpur carries out research studies in different areas of environmental engineering. Its major research and development programs focuses on drinking water, environmental biotechnology, hazardous waste management, environmental impact and risk assessment and environmental systems design. The institute also imparts training in Analytical Quality Control, Environmental Biotechnology and Solid Waste Management, for industry and governmental/non-governmental organizations.
