Narwar




Narwar is a taluk headquarters town in the Shivpuri District of Madhya Pradesh. It is around 43 km from Shivpuri and 122 km from Gwalior. The town is famous for its medieval fortress, Narwar Fort. Once, it was the capital of Raja Nal of Naisadha. Narwar was known as Narwar District during the times of Gwalior State. It is mentioned as Nalpura (Nala's town) in many medieval Sanskrit inscriptions.

Madhav National Park, Madhav Vilas Palace, Sakhya Sagar Lake and Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary are the major attractions near Narwar.

Gwalior Airport and Shivpuri Railway Station are the nearest airport and railhead respectively.
