Narwana




Narwana is the headquarters of a taluk and sub-division bearing the same name, in Jind District, Haryana. This small town is located about 37 km north-west of Jind.

The name ‘Narwana’ is thought to be the corruption of the word ‘Nirvana’ which means salvation. Places of tourist interest include the tomb of Sufi Saint Hazrat Gaibi Sahib, Hansdehar and Dhamtan Sahib.

The nearest airport is at New Delhi. Narwana Railway Station is linked with Sirsa, Kaithal, Jind, New Delhi and Chandigarh. By road, Narwana is connected with Panipat, Rohtak, Jind, Ambala and Fatehabad.
