Nartiang Temple

Nartiang Temple, located at Nartiang in Jaintia Hills District, is a 500 year old temple constructed by the Jaintia Kings. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga.

The temple sanctum was connected by a steep tunnel with the river Myntang flowing below the hill on which the temple stands. The tradition of sacrificing a male goat during the Durga Puja, which was established by the Jaintia kings, still continues.

The Nartiang Shiva Temple is located nearby. Guwahati Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
