Naqqar Khana was the official gateway to the Red Fort at
Delhi. During the period of the Mughals, it functioned as the drum house.
The two-storey building is rectangular in shape and is very large. There are carved designs on its red sandstone walls which were once painted in gold. The interiors of the building however were painted in various colors. On either side of its gateway there are double-storied rooms over which was the music gallery, an open hall with five open arched bays. It now houses a war museum.
