Nangal




Nangal is situated at the foot of the Shivalik Hills in Rupnagar District of Punjab, about 60 km from Rupnagar. Geographically, Nangal is divided into Nangal Township and Naya Nangal. It is an important tourist destination with its natural landscape of hills, dam, river and canals. Among these, the most charming and attractive is the famous Bhakra Dam built on the Sutlej River. Other points of interest include Nangal Dam, Nangal Hydel Channel, Ganguwal and Kotla Power Houses. About one and a half km from Nangal lies Gurdwara Bibhaur Sahib which attracts a large number of devotees from various places.

Nearest railway station is at Kurali, about 5 km from Nangal. Chandigarh Airport serves this area.
