Nambikovil is a sanctuary of 988 acres of medicinal plants located in
Tirunelveli District,
Tamil Nadu. The name ‘Nambikovil’ is derived from an ancient temple (koil) on the banks of
Nambiyar River. It is situated within the Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve Wild Life Sanctuary. The area is well known for the cultivation of the red listed medicinal plant, Janakia arayalpathra. Nambikovil has around 255 plant species including eight red listed ones.
