Nagnath Temple

Nagnath Temple is an ancient shrine located in Champawat, Uttaranchal. This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a good example of traditional Kumaoni architecture.

Nagnath Temple was devastated by Rohilla and Gorkha invaders in the 18th century. Currently a double-storeyed wooden structure and a huge carved doorway remain.

Champawat is about 76 km south of Pithoragarh. The temple can be easily accessed from the Tanakpur Railway Station.
