Nagaland University, established in 1994, is a Central University. Its headquarters is located at Lumami and has three campuses at
Kohima, Lumami and Medziphema.
The university has School of Social Sciences, School of Sciences, School of Humanities and Education and School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development with numerous departments. About 40 colleges are affiliated to this university.
