Nadan Kovil Temple




The Nadan Kovil temple is situated in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. The temple is located about 2 miles from the Korukai bus stop. Nadan Kovil is believed to be constructed by a famous King named Nandhi Varma. The deity of this temple is Lord Jagannathan (Vishnu. The deity is also known by the names Nadhanadhan and Vinnagara Perumal. The idol of the deity is seen in a sitting position facing the east. This temple is also called Dakshina Jagannatham (Jagannath of the South) due to its close resemblance to the famous Jagannath temple of Puri, Orissa.
