Mysore Rail Museum




Established in 1979, the Mysore Rail Museum is locatedon the Krishnaraja Sagar Road. It has a wide collection of photographs and paintings that give information about the development of the railways. The Sri Ranga Pavilion inside the museum consists of two royal coaches that belonged to the Maharaja of Mysore. It has a Maharani's saloon carriage dating back to 1899. It boasts a kitchen, dining car unit and a royal toilet. A battery-operated mini-train and one of the first steam engines built are displayed in the museum.
