Muthur, also spelt Muttur, is a settlement in
Erode District,
Tamil Nadu. It spans over an area of about 33 sq km.
Muthur is bounded in the north by Kollankoil, in the south by Vellakovil (13 km), in the west by Kangeyam (19 km) and in the east by
Kodumudi (17 km).
Muthur is situated about 10 km south-west of
Sivagiri and 18 km south-east of
Chennimalai. Some of the nearby tourist spots are Chennimalai Temple and Government Museum at Karur.
The nearest airport is
C A Coimbatore Airport. Muthur can be approached from Kangeyam by road.
