Music Academy of Madras is situated at
Royapettah, one of the oldest residential areas in central
Chennai,
Tamil Nadu. Established in 1928, the academy aims to foster Indian music and encourage the study of the various nuances of music.
Music Academy conducts courses in vocal and instrumental music. Part-time six-year course are offered in
Mridangam,
Veena and
Violin. The academy also offers two-year course in
Carnatic Classical Music for beginners.
