Murugamale




Murugamale is a village near Chintamani in Kolar District. This village, akin to Erwadi in Ramanathapuram District, has a dargah called Wajid Sha Wali Dargah. This shrine, which is said to have a 500-year old history, has tombs of Fakeer Shak Wali and Bhibhi Amma Jaan, who were believed to have supernatural powers. Large number of devotees both from within the district and from neighboring Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh bring their loved ones to this place in the belief that the dargah here had magical powers to cure mental illness. Murugamale is 40 km from Kolar. The nearest town, Chintamani is 75 km from Bangalore.
