Murray and Company is located in Thambu Chetty Street,
Chennai. It is an auction shop started in late 1920s by S. Vedantam and S. Rajam. The store has three departments - Industrial Disposal, Recovery Sales and Furniture and Curios departments. It disposes all second hand machines and vehicles, office furniture, equipment, handicrafts, household goods, un-cleared cargo, curios, industrial process and maintenance scrap, unused spares and stock. Valuation and disposal of plant and machinery and office related equipments are done by the Industrial Disposal department. The Recovery department handles sale and auction of movable and immovable property after complying with all legalities. Valuation and auction of antiques, household furniture and paintings is handled by the Furniture and Curios department.
