Mondaikaddu Bhagavathy Amman Temple




Located 40 km from Kanyakumari, Bhagavathy Amman Temple is in Mondaikaddu, which is north-east of Colachel Port. It was built in the 7th century BC. Uniqueness is that the presiding deity (Amman) is in the form of a five-headed anthill of 12 ft high. The annual ten-day festival, Mondaikadu Kodai, draws devotees from far and near.
