Modhera Dance Festival is one of the important festivals celebrated in
Modhera, 102 km north-west of
Ahmedabad. Conducted by the Tourism Corporation of
Gujarat, this annual festival is held in the month of January. It is organized with the intention to promote Indian classical dance.
The dance festival usually takes place at the Modhera Sun Temple, the 11th century shrine famous for Solanki temple architecture. Hundreds of people gather here to attend this festival, as well as to pay homage to Lord Surya.
