Mira Road

Mira Road is the first major township located outside Mumbai city limits, towards the north, at a distance of about 39 km from Churchgate.

Owing to its proximity with Mumbai, the region became quickly inhabited – now it is one of the most populated places in Thane District. Mira Road is located on the Salcette island of Thane District and a marshy creek separates Mira Road from Mumbai.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Kanheri Caves and Tulsi and Vihar lakes, Essel World and Water Kingdom and Jawhar Palace are some spots worth visiting outside Mira Road.

Dahisar is around 5 km south. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport serves Mira Road. Mira Road Railway Station lies on the Andheri Virar line of Western Railways.
