Mewar Festival



Mewar Festival is a spring festival dedicated to Goddess Parvati. It is celebrated throughout Rajasthan and coincides with Gangaur Festival.

The festival is held in the month of April. A colorful procession of women carrying the images of the goddess, to the Gangaur Ghat of the lake Pichhola, is held during the festival. The boat procession starting from the Lake Palace is also a major attraction of the festival. The festival is made alive with songs, dances, devotional music, rituals and fireworks.
