Merta



Located to the west of Pushkar, Merta is a city in the Nagaur District of Rajasthan. It is about 80 km from Nagaur and is situated at an altitude of 1,026 ft. This ancient town has several temples and magnificent palaces. The main attractions include the 400-year-old Meera Bai Temple and Aurangzeb’s Mosque. Dudasagar is another draw. Bhanwal Matta Temple is about 25 km from Merta. Merta is surrounded by Mokala in the west, Kheduli in the north, Lampolai in the east and Dhanaria in the south. Merta is well-connected by road from Ajmer (80 km east) and Jodhpur (125 km west). The nearest airport is Jodhpur Airport. Merta Road Junction Railway Station and Merta City Railway Station are the convenient railheads.
