Mermaid is the famous art creation of Kanayi Kunhiraman, a renowned artist and sculpturist of
Kerala. This gigantic carving is the major attraction of
Shanghumughom Beach, adjacent to the
Trivandrum International Airport.
The work is locally known as 'matsya kanyaka'. This 35 m long sculpture made in concrete welcomes many to the beach.
