Melvisharam

Melvisharam, also known as Visharam, is a town in Vellore District of Tamil Nadu. It lies on the National Highway 46 between Vellore and Arcot, at about 16 km from Vellore. The historic place of Ranipet is 5 km east.

Set amid picturesque surroundings, Melvisharam is a tourist spot known for a mosque. C Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology and the Arabic college are the landmarks.

Vellore Fort, Government Museum, Madarazaye Mohammadiya Masjid, Muthu Mandapam (tomb of Vikrama Raja Singha) and Delhi Gate are nearby.

Nearest airport is Chennai International Airport. Vellore Cantonment Railway Station is the nearest rail access point.
