Mayuram Farm Lodge

Mayuram Farm Lodge, at Govindaperri village in Tamil Nadu, is situated on a 350 acre farm, at the foot of the Western Ghats. The lodge is close to the Kalakkad-Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve.

The lodge has two bedrooms and can accommodate four persons on a twin-sharing basis. The rooms are equipped with attached bathroom, running water, electricity and telephone. An outhouse on the premises can house two to four persons in two rooms, with common toilet facilities.

The lodge represents vernacular styles of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with the influences of British colonial architecture. Open transition spaces, courtyards and the verandahs on the north and south, with the beautiful view of the mountains and of the rural landscape, are other notable features.

The best time to visit is between October and March.

The lodge at Govindapperi is 247 km by road from Ernakulam, 167 km from Madurai and 137 km from Thiruvananthapuram. The nearest railway station is at Tirunelveli, about 60 km from Govindapperi. From Shenkottah, one can reach Govindaperri either through Tenkasi, or through Kuttalam.
