Mayo Memorial Hall is situated near Thornhill and Mayne Memorial Library, in
Allahabad. This large hall, with a 180 ft high tower, is a rare example of exquisite colonial architecture of the 19th and early 20th century.
Designed by the renowned architect Richard Roskell Bayne in 1879, Mayo was built in commemoration of an assassinated viceroy and to hold public meetings, balls and receptions.
