Mayamari




Mayamari is a sacred place associated with Gaudiya Vaishnava Sect in Simantadvipa, one among the nine islands of Navadvipa.

According to legend, Lord Balram who was on a pilgrimage rested here. The brahmins of the area complained about the menace created by demon Mayasura. Upon their request, Balram killed the demon. Thus, the place got the name Mayamari.

Sridhara’s Garden is a nearby attraction.
