Mawkyrwat is located in
West Khasi Hills of
Meghalaya. The place is rich in mineral resources. Deposits of multi-colored granite, which are suitable as dimensional and decorative stones are found in plenty at Mawkyrwat.
Lum Symper, a picnic spot, is at a short distance away from Mawkyrwat on the route to Weiloi. Mawkyrwat is south-east of Nongstoin.
