Mathoor is a village located on the border of Thiruvananthapuram District and Tamil Nadu. This picturesque place is about 3 km from Thiruvattar. The main attraction here is an irrigation bridge, which is considered to be the highest irrigation bridge in Asia. Thiruvattar Temple is a nearby attraction.

The village offers views of the scenic beauty of nature with brooks rushing past big black rocks. Passing by these rocks one can get the view of the narrow irrigation bridge. The bridge is so thin that just two persons can stand shoulder to shoulder. The bridge is about 1024 metre long and 110 foot high and is supported by 28 granite pillars. Trekking enthusiasts and holiday makers get to Mathoor for a day's trip.
