Martand Canal




The Martand Canal is in Anantnag District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the oldest canal and is about 50 km long. The canal takes its water from the Lidder River. It is used for irrigation purposes. It feeds a large area in Anantnag District. The Martand Canal and the famous Sun Temple of Martand were constructed simultaneously.
