Maroor is small village close to Karkal in
Dakshina Kannada District. This village, located on Moodbidri-Venoor Road, houses one of the ancient temples in
Karnataka.
Shri Laxminarasimha Temple is the major point of attraction at Maroor. This 400 year old temple worships Lord Vishnu in the form of Narasimha. Thousands of devotees throng Maroor during the major festival named Sahasra Kumbhabhisheka.
