Marakayarpatnam is a small village situated at the outskirts of Mandapam, in Ramanathapuram District. It is located on National Highway 49, just 2 km from Mandapam and around 21 km from Rameshwaram.

Pamban Bridge, Kurusadai Islands, Dhanushkodi, Gulf of Mannar Marine Biosphere Reserve and Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary are some interesting destinations accessible from here.
